The Handi Quilter van and machines will be in Walla Walla for a total of four days of hands-on education, inspiration and fun. Come get your hands on the HQ Amara using free motion and Pro-Stitcher techniques. The National Educator will be on hand to guide you through each of the sessions. You will leave not only with new confidence and inspirations, but also with handouts to use to recreate and support the information and training from each session.
Classes are limited to six students - one student per machine. You will get hands on training on a machine without having to share!!
***Morning sessions begin at 9:00AM---Afternoon sessions begin at 1:00PM
Lunch is 12:00-1:00 (you can bring a sack lunch or grab something quick)
Day 1 Morning Session - Getting Started with Longarm Quilting
Are you interested in learning more about longarm quilting? This great class is a show and tell of all the best features of the Handi Quilter machine lineup. The basics will be covered, including machine and frame maintenance, loading a quilt, setting your tension, and picking the perfect thread to stitch out the perfect design. Questions about everything quilting related – from pantographs to stencils – will all be answered in this great back to basics class.

Day 1 Afternoon Session - Free-Motion Quilting. You Can Do It!
Ready to tackle free-motion quilting? It’s as easy as starting with a few simple shapes! By beginning with drawing, you can develop an inventory of free motion designs that you can stitch out continuously. Fun fills, creative borders and easy blocks will all be demonstrated. Quilting out beautiful designs using free motion techniques will take your skills to the next level.

Day 2 Morning Session - Can’t Have Enough Rulers!
Do you love rulers? But are you still looking for new ways to use them? In this class, we’ll focus on building an inventory of design ideas using the HQ VersaTool and other HQ rulers. Point to point quilting using markings already on your quilt – like seams or corners – is a cinch with rulers. We’ll start with ruler basics, then move on to creating beautiful designs for your entire quilt.

Day 2 Afternoon Session - Introduction to the Pro-Stitcher
Pro-Stitcher is an intuitive computer-guided quilting system designed especially for use with Handi Quilter longarm quilting machines. User-friendly and simple to operate, the step-by-step process for each function is easy and fun. Covid-19 Rules and Regulations for classes
☐ All participants in the event must wear masks. Students should provide their own masks. We will
have masks available for purchase for those who arrive without one.
☐ We will ask each attendee if they are experiencing any COVID symptoms each day.
☐ We will be taking the temperature of each staff member and event attendee upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature above 100.0F will be sent home.
☐ Hand sanitizer will be available
☐ We will be sanitizing and disinfecting the classroom and common areas. This will include restrooms, chairs, and breakroom.
